Best. Teacharrr. Evarrr.

A brilliant Utah teacher has found a way to interest 16-year-olds in history. Ronald Hansen teaches pirates "rather than do[ing] Columbus." His course culminates in a three-day treasure hunt, complete with cryptographic clues. Principal's only concern: it's hard to figure out all that pirate lingo. Bravo, Mr. Hansen!   1. Thanks so much for posting this article! It is great to hear that people are seeking to explore other regions of history that are a bit off the beaten path! As a scholar of the Golden Age of Piracy, I totally approve of this lesson plan.
